The staff at ACBL have solved the problem of installing the program on Vista Systems.
Ron Montgomery offers the following:
Apparently the comdlg32.ocx control fails to register properly during installation if another program has been previously installed that also uses the control. I believe this is a rights issue with Vista. To get the control registered you need to do the following:
1. Go into the control panel and open user accounts using classic view. Select "Turn User Account Control on or off". Uncheck user account control and click ok.
2. Reboot.
3. Open the run command and type regsvr32 "C:\program files\acbl convention card editor\comdlg32.ocx"
4. Click ok. If all went well the dll will register and the program will installation will be repaired.
5. To restore your security settings, be sure to go back to the control panel and check the user account control box. You will need to reboot to make your security settings take effect.
I have successfully installed and opened the convention card editor on a computer
running Vista. If you see the following dialog box, it is safe to click on allow.
Then the installation should run normally.
